Meet Mereen, Registered Dietitian

Growing up in an Indian household, Mereen was naturally drawn towards cooking delectable dishes and bringing people together through their love for food. The interest grew once she was accepted into the Medical Academy of her high school and took her first nutrition course which motivated her to go into the field of dietetics in college.

Mereen graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition & Foods with a minor in Biology from the University of Houston.  She received her Master of Science in Nutrition from Texas Woman’s University in Houston while gaining healthcare experience working in clinical research at MD Anderson Cancer Center.  She was an avid volunteer with Houston’s Recipe for Success Foundation and was later hired as their Nutrition Educator where she combined her love for teaching and cooking with children!

Following her Dietetic Internship, she moved back to Houston and went to work as a Clinical Dietitian at Memorial Hermann Hospital before becoming a Retail Dietitian for H-E-B Grocery.

Mereen focuses on a food-first philosophy and her goal is to provide evidence-based nutrition education to nourish your body and guide you to a healthier and happier you without falling into the traps of toxic diet culture.

Mereen relocated to DFW in 2022 after getting married. She's a foodie who enjoys trying new restaurants and giving her opinion as a Yelp Elite member, and on her Instablog!
