In the state of Texas anyone with an interest in nutrition may call themselves a “Nutritionist”. The terms Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) are reserved for those individuals who have completed a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, a dietetic internship with at least 1200 supervised hours, and passed a national registration exam. RDs or RDNs must maintain their credentials by accumulating a minimum of 75 continuing education credits every 5 years.
The cost depends on what your insurance plan covers. We will call in to verify your insurance benefits and provide you with an out of pocket estimate prior to your first session. For self pay clients, the initial assessment is $160 and follow ups are $120. Sliding scale rates may be provided to those with a demonstrated financial need, and is subject to dietitian availability.
If we don't accept your insurance plan, you will receive a coded receipt for services (superbill) that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Reimbursement is based on your policy’s standards. Please call your insurance company’s member services number to verify how reimbursement works under your current insurance policy.
We offer in-person sessions on Fridays.
